What Is EPS-TOPIK?

Official Korean Test for South Korea Work Permits (E-9 Visa)

EPS-TOPIK (Employment Permit System — Test of Proficiency in Korean, 고용허가제 한국어능력시험) is conducted by HRD Korea in partnership with Pakistan's Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC). Passing the CBT language exam and skill test is mandatory for Pakistani workers applying for E-9 employment in South Korea.

5-Month Month-by-Month Syllabus in Urdu

Month 1 — Hangul & Core Pronunciation: Korean alphabet, batchim (받침) sound-change rules, Sino-Korean & native numbers, dates, prices and basic SOV sentences in Urdu.

Month 2 — HRD Korea Textbook Vol. 1 (Ch. 1–30): Daily life in Korea, public transport, hospital, pharmacy, post office, workplace etiquette and polite endings (-아요/어요, -습니다).

Month 3 — HRD Korea Textbook Vol. 2 (Ch. 31–60): Manufacturing, construction, agriculture & fisheries chapters, machinery operation, protective gear and occupational safety.

Month 4 — Labor Law & 2,000+ Exam Vocabulary: Employment contracts, wages, insurance, visa extensions, industrial accidents and intensive audio listening drills.

Month 5 — Full CBT Mock Exams & Skill Test: Timed 40-question computer-based mock tests (200 marks), past paper analysis, colour-vision check and Korean interview practice.
